Test/Defect Analyst

An opportunity exists for a Test/Defect Analyst to join a high profile implementation project, to provide support to the test team in the areas of defect coordination and management, reporting, traceability and administration.

You will be responsible for ensuring that Defect Management processes, quality and content are adhered to in Quality Centre (QC) by the project testing teams.

This role requires that regular, detailed data reconciliations are performed to ensure that a consistent and agreed view is available. This includes running defect workshops, documenting defect baselines in QC, interacting with test teams, validating content of defects, ensuring that all required data is logged with attachments (to facilitate recreation by development teams), performing a risk, severity and priority review on all defects, publishing workshop minutes as a formal record, and assisting testers with the correct and timely logging of their defects.

The role also requires that outputs are generated from QC for reporting across defects and test case coverage in a variety of formats for presentation to stakeholders ranging from technical to executive management.

In addition to defect co-ordination, the role is responsible for building, maintaining and producing daily reports from Quality Centre. The role also includes building and implementing controls over test case traceability to requirements, functions and operational scenarios. It includes validating that links exist in Quality Centre and/or the requirements database.

The role also has administrative duties for maintenance and support of the Test Team. These include ensuring that all testing artefacts are lodged in the document management system, in correct directories in a timely and efficient manner, sufficient to support formal audit. Administrative tasks also include taking minutes, writing them up and distributing to meeting attendees.

KEY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- At least 3 years testing experience within a program office
- 3-5 years of experience working within Quality Centre at a technical level (ie SQL queries against the QC database) as well as detailed working functional understanding
- A structured approach to testing
- Proven ability to deliver testing outcomes in a complex Project Environment
- Excellent MS Project, PowerPoint, and Word Skills
- A strong customer focus and strong service ethic
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce high quality written documentation
- Able to develop good working relationships with all stakeholders
