Test Consultant oil + gas

The Project Services discipline in client is running a program to improve its capability to estimate the cost of major Capital Investments for Hydrocarbon Processing Facilities in the early stages of the investment decision process. For that a new client proprietary software product CCET ( Capital Cost Estimation Tool') is being developed that realizes a game-changing implementation of the quantity based cost estimation methodology while consolidating our intellectual property from existing proprietary software packages and excel tools. The CCET will provide a configurable cost estimation engine depending heavily on external specification of parameterized cost estimation models and reference data for engineering configurations, costing parameters and market scenarios.

Our primary objectives for the position in this project are:
1. Supply support for the performance testing activities.
2. Set up automated test scripts as part of the automated regression test suite. Client`s primary IT contractor for the development of CCET is the company ORTEC B.V. in Zoetermeer. Resources of that company are involved in requirements analysis, software build, unit and system testing, and gathering and specification of estimation models and reference data. Additional client and 3rd party contract staff are involved in project management, test management, requirements and solution specification and approval, and user acceptance testing. The project is run using the agile software methodology (SCRUM) in which the aspired functionality is being delivered incrementally by means of monthly product releases (sprints).

The position will report to the test manager in the overall project.
2 Primary scope of activities There are two sets of activities for the test support position in the project: I. Support the performance testing activities in the project by maintaining and executing a set of manual tests II. Develop automated test scripts as part of the automated regression test suite

Specific tasks for the performance testing support are:
1) Maintain detailed test scripts for manual performance measurements.
2) Execute (semi-) manual performance measurements and report on findings.

Specific tasks for the test automation role are:
1) Describe regression tests based on existing functionality.
2) Develop and maintain test scripts in a FitNesse + Selenium environment.
3) Execute and monitor (daily) regression test cycles and report on findings.
4) Seek opportunity to innovate and improve beyond current state-of-the-art.

Skills & Experience

The positions require the following skills.
