One of our clients, a company in big data software and solutions is looking for Test Automation Engineer
Start: ASAP
Length: min 6 months
Location: Liège, BE
Are you a Tester with proven experience in introducing automation and agile testing strategies? An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Liège office where you will increase confidence in a key project through automated testing and help kick start the team's agile transformation. We need someone passionate about continuous improvement and craftsmanship.
You'll be involved in hands-on selecting test libraries and implementing automated tests for a large .net and C++ desktop GIS application. As an advocate of agile practices, you will increase communication within the development team and continually challenge any divisions between development and test to ensure that testing and risk mitigation is performed at the earliest possible stage. Domain and expertise will be available through the testers on-site in the Liège, Belgium office, with extended support from the head officedev/test team based in the UK
Required Skills:
* Proven experience writing tests in C# and/or C++ Code
* Testing Desktop winforms and WPF applications
* Knowledge of Microsoft Accessibility tools (UI Automation)
* Quickly evaluating and selecting testing frameworks
* Knowledge of agile test strategies and how to migrate to these strategies
* Self-motivated team player with strong problem solving and communication skills
* Ability to write intermediate SQL code
* Experience with CI and deployment automation tools a bonus
* Fluent in English and good level of French
We're not looking for just a tester, but for someone with development and testing skills and a focus on quality.
The ideal candidate for this job is someone who really cares about efficient delivery of quality software and can inspire the same in others. You will challenge our developers on their work with regards to sustainability, scalability, maintainability and performance. You will also report, initially, to the Development Manager, UK.
