Teradata Technical Specialist - 12 Months Contract

Our large federal government client is currently looking for an experienced Teradata Technical Specialist to work in the Business Intelligence (BI) Datawarehouse capability on projects under the BI programs and to deliver expert technical advice and support in development of Datawarehouse applications and components.

This is a 12 MONTH CONTRACT and you will be required to possess a current BASELINE (PROTECTED) SECURITY CLEARANCE.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Undertake a range of complex technical and project-orientated tasks associated with support and development and tuning of physical models/datamarts and Datawarehouse Applications.
- Undertake a range of complex technical and project-orientated tasks associated with the analysis of DWH data holdings, and transaction accesses against these data holdings, to enable the configuration/optimisation of new technologies that enable cross DWH platform data processing.
- Provide specialist technical support to Datawarehouse Developers and Users.
- Assist other Technical Specialists in resolving operational issues.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and produce operational reports for technical and business audiences.
- Prepare technical documentation and guidelines relating to SQL efficiencies and best practice DWH application development for technical and business audiences.
- Assist investigation and resolution of complex operational issues involving the Datawarehouse and related data flows.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

- Have an extensive and continuous Teradata Warehousing experience working as a Teradata Consultant, Systems Architect or Administrator including working with V13.10 RDBMS or later.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to implement DWH best practice
- Extensive experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Teradata Infrastructure Implementation and Configuration
- Teradata Infrastructure Administration
- Teradata Infrastructure Design and Architecture
- Teradata SQL
- Teradata Application Development
- Have a sound understanding of Teradata security principles including a sound understanding of the types of authentication and access controls in host environments.
