Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Biological Physics/Complex Systems

Eingestellt von Bio Careers

Gesuchte Skills: Engineering

Projektbeschreibung

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Northwestern University invites applications for a faculty position in all areas of theoretical and experimental biological physics and complex systems. We seek outstanding individuals who will complement and expand the current activities of the Physics and Astronomy Department and will be active members of the broader Northwestern University biological and complexity communities. Research currently pursued by physics faculty include soft and biological materials, interfaces between inorganic and organic surfaces, complex networks in physical and biological systems, statistical physics of biological molecules, nonlinear dynamics, modeling of neuronal and intracellular processes, dynamical and structural properties of complex systems, and molecular origins of complexity. Applicants should have a strong record of achievement in research and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching in physics. The ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. in physics or a related field and will be interested in connecting with interdisciplinary efforts such as those promoted by the university's NIH Biophysics Training Grant, the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC), the Northwestern Institute on Complex Systems (NICO), and the Initiative for Sustainability and Energy at Northwestern (ISEN). An appointment at the tenure-track Assistant Professor level is anticipated.
