Temporary Lawyer

A leading investment bank is looking for a Temporary Lawyer to be based in their head office in Canary Wharf.

As In-house Lawyer you will serve as temporary counsel to the Global Collateral Services department. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Collateral Management, Derivatives Margin Management, Derivatives Services and Liquidity Services. The successful candidate will also be responsible for drafting and negotiating service agreements, advising senior management, product, business development, sales/commercial and Back Office teams as well as Compliance, Risk, Credit officers on legal and regulatory issues that arise in connection with the business, new products/services and the negotiation of contracts.

The Ideal candidate will have:

- Strong proven Collateral Management experience
- LLB or equivalent from an approved and recognized law school in a common-law jurisdiction, and a qualified solicitor or equivalent.
- 4-6 years of experience in the banking sector (including some in-house experience)
- Experience in negotiating and advising financial institutions engaged in transactions involving securities finance, collateral services, global custody and clearing, security agreements, prime brokerage services.
- Experience advising senior business managers and control functions with respect to risk, credit, operational and compliance issues.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communications, drafting, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
