HR Advisor

Guildford (no parking)

Monday - Friday

8:30am - 5:00pm

To start 10th Feb 2014 to continue for 4 months

THE MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:- - To develop, through regular contact, a good understanding of the work and issues facing the services to be supported.
- To support performance management: advise line managers on best practice and process, produce letters, attend disciplinary hearings, update employee file and HR systems.
- To support absence management: advise line managers on best practice and process, liaise with occupational health, produce letters, attend meetings if required, update employee file and HR system.
- To support recruitment in these services: advise line managers on best practice and process, obtain relevant authorisation.
- To support grievances and complaints: advise line managers on best practice and process, set up investigation, ensure timely response, update employee file and HR system.
- To carry out project work as requested by the HR Partner or Head of HR, eg taking the lead on appraisals, organising Healthy Living Week
- To support leavers: advise line managers on best practice and process, ensure exit interview is offered, process paperwork, update file and HR system.
- To support changes to terms and conditions: advise line managers on best practice and process, ensure consultation takes place, process paperwork, produce letters, update file and HR system.
- To support training and development: advise line managers on what is available and learning and development solutions might be most suitable for their needs. Refer to the Training Officer as appropriate.
- To support equalities and access: advise line managers on diversity and equal opportunities and how this impacts on their work.
- HR policies and procedures: to review policy/procedure as requested by the HR Partner and draft amendments in line with best practice and current employment legislation.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties that you are asked to undertake by the Human Resources Partner.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:- Due to the nature of the role the candidate will have HR generalist experience as well as advising employment law and able to demonstrate a good understanding of HR best practice.

Recruitment and selection techniques, including selection interviewing is an advantage.

As this is to start at the beginning of the new year it is essential that the candidate is immediately available and is able to commit to this position for the next 3 months.
