Telecoms Architect

My client is a lead Energy provider and they have an outstanding opportunity for Telecoms Architect based in Plymouth. They are seeking a Telecoms Architect with proven experience in designing high level designs for large complex organisations.

Our Telecoms Architect will work across a number of projects based on emergent demands. The key responsibilities include:
. Systems Analysis and Design.
. The capability of contributing to a strategic architecture definition.
. Liaison with customers, suppliers, and colleagues from associated support groups.
. An appreciation of all aspects of system and product life cycles - from initial conceptualisation, through delivery, operational support, and finally decommissioning.
. Working within the guidelines of the company security policy
. Participates in all phases and takes lead role in projects, develops strategies and provides high level technical support
. Working as part of a multi-skilled project team to deliver proven working designs to solve business problems.
. Performs design evaluations of multi-functional IT systems.
. To provide advice and guidance to project and operational support teams.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable experience in a similar role and have an ability to self-manage and delivery on schedule technical solution designs. You will have good knowledge of data centres/enterprise computing and associated operational good practice. Plus the ability to work comfortably in a heterogeneous systems environment based principally upon MS Windows, IBM and Sun operating system products (System and storage) virtualisation technologies and products. You also require knowledge of system and network security - eg LDAP/Active Directory; and experience of one or more RDBMS environments - Oracle and SQL Server specifically would be an advantage.

This role may involve travel to other sites, including Gloucester, Crawley, and London.
