Telecommunications/IT Safety Manager

This is a job opportunity for a long term contract within a prestigious Government organisation.

The Safety Manager 1a, as a member of the Technical Assurance Team, will provide and document safety assurance for equipment (tactical communications systems) under procurement to enable its timely introduction into service and through life management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your daily duties will include the production and Maintenance of assurance documentation, management of the department Hazard Log(s), sentencing of department related accidents and incidents, secretary to department Safety and Environmental Management Committee, secretary to department and GD UK Safety Sentencing Review Board and safety Review Meetings between department and equipment suppliers

REQUIREMENTS

You should be competent in the following areas of through life Safety and Environmental management in acquisition, investigation and analysis of accidents and incidents, management of Safety and Environmental Risk, assurance documentation, eg Safety, Environmental and Quality; Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements for contract placement; and delivering Safety Environmental arrangements and advice.

The successful individual will need to interpret Safety and Environmental Policy, Legislation and Standards in order to inform and advise department procurement projects.
