TELECOMMUNICATION FIELD SERVICE TECH ATLANTA, GA CONTRACT TO HIRE

We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Field Service Technician capable of supporting clients within a 60 mile radius of the Atlanta, GA region. In this role, you will be utilizing YOUR OWN VEHICLE and expensing mileage weekly.

The Telecom Service Technician is responsible for the installation, service, and repair of VOIP site equipment at client sites. The Ideal Service Technician should be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures and will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains company VOIP products and equipment.
- Identifies, analyzes, and repairs equipment failures, and will order and replace parts as needed.
- Setup, Integration of Voice/VOIP systems including punch downs, wire runs and cable terminations.
- Coordinates orders with outside vendors.
- Determines and makes recommendations as to which products or services will best fit the site s needs.
- Gathers equipment inventory data and provides equipment configurations as needed.
- Relies on previous knowledge and assistance from other techs to perform the functions of the job.
- Will be on call as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- General knowledge of telecommunications architecture, hardware and software, and setup processes
- Experience in remote and onsite support, including but not limited to: Routers, Cable/DSL modems, Servers and Switches
- Two or more years of experience dealing with computer network configurations and VOIP systems
- Windows product familiarity to perform various types of installations and upgrades either on-site or remotely
- Should possess excellent communication skills to effectively communicate to all levels of management
- Experience with US LEC and/or Interexchange a plus

8am 5pm core hour work schedule + On Call Duty rotation subject to change due to needs of the customer.
