Telecom & Network specialist Dutch or French/English 4 months + ext Brussels
The Pharos Program aims at optimization of the global Construction & Engineering value chain that delivers infrastructure projects. It searches for optimization across business processes, organization and IT systems.
One of the challenges of the Pharos Program is the network connectivity on construction sites (at the site hut).
The new system landscape consists mainly of "online" systems, connected to the centrally hosted client Back End systems (eg SAP). In order to guarantee an optimal applicative responsiveness on construction sites, performant network connectivity is a must.
The goal of the track "network connectivity" is to optimize the applicative responsiveness of the systems that will be used on construction sites.
The track consists of 3 major axes:
1. Process review: optimize the process within ICT and business from initial demand until decommissioning of the (temporary) connection.
2. Evaluate and optimize solution portfolio: evaluate the ¡§portfolio¡¨ of various options available in the market and on the client own telecommunication networks (fiber, TTR).
3. Optimize solution architecture for maximal applicative responsiveness
The mission focuses mainly on axis "2 Evaluate and optimize solution portfolio", and consists of an evaluation of various options available in the market and on the client own telecommunication networks taking into account different variables:
- Cost
- Risk
- Ease of deployment
- Bandwidth/Reliability
- SLA¡¦s that can be guaranteed
- Other criteria to be further elaborated
Close interaction with the other 2 axes will be required.
The mission has been estimated between 20 and 30md, to be delivered over a period of 2-3 months.
Role:
Evaluate various options available in the market and on the client own telecommunication networks taking into account different variables.
Define implementation constraints that could impact the process.
Define site discovery requirements and outcomes.
Define roadmap to broaden our current solution portfolio.
Align with different stakeholders (business and ICT).
Profile:
Experienced telecom and networks specialist.
Experience with Cisco environments is a must.
Experience with Belgian telecom market is a must.
Experience with BITP-constraints and long-distance wireless solutions is an asset.
Experience with WAN optimization is an asset.
You are fluent in French and/or Dutch and speak English
