Telecom Network Security Analyst Job

TELECOM NETWORK SECURITY ANALYST needed for a LONG-TERM CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Charlotte, NC.

Please note that this position does not allow for working remotely, as such the incumbent must be able to work onsite in client's Charlotte, NC location.

Must be currently eligible to work in the US for any employer.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Experience with network security controls on Cisco equipment
- Strong Telecom/Security experience

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Position focuses on operational tasks related to maintenance of critical network infrastructure and network security controls to ensure compliance with NERC CIP regulatory requirements.
- Serves as Network Security Engineer/Telecom Analyst.
- Security event monitoring and response.
- Deployment of code upgrades on Cisco Routers, Switches, ASAs.
- Reviewing and responding to deviations from baseline configurations.
- Maintaining processes and procedures up-to-date.
- Performing IOS code tests.
- Evaluating vulnerability assessments for devices and network systems. Participates in audits. Recommends security improvements. Documents work performed as necessary.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Deep understanding of network technologies and networking protocols.
- Working knowledge of network security controls and protocols on Cisco equipment.
- Working knowledge of enterprise security controls.
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience relevant work experience in Information Technology.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with IDS and IPS technologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current security threats.
- Experience with Syslog, TACACS, Radius, and/or SNMP.
- Experience with Palo Alto and Checkpoint technologies.
- Able to perform self-directed work.
- Experience troubleshooting across Firewall infrastructure with various third party tools.
- Strong team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments.
- Strong written and oral communications.
- Proven ability to speak and write about complex technical topics to a less technical audience.
- Other industry network security certifications and experience.
- Experience implementing regulatory requirements especially NERC CIP.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Current CCNA Security or CCNA with background matching desired qualifications.
- Two-year associates degree in relevant field (4-year degree preferable). Combination of education plus equivalent work experience okay.
