Telecom Engineer

For one of our customers TFC - Talent Force Cooperation - is looking for a Telecom Engineer.

As part of a larger program a telecom project is started with the goal to consolidate and simplify the current Back End infrastructure:
- The Legacy PBX infrastructure and a KPN city ring infrastructure will be phased out.
- A vendor will be selected to offload international voice traffic.
- Expense management will be implemented to create predictability for the operational telecom costs.
- A pilot will be setup to verify the feasibility of a softphone application.

You will be working in the telecom project team, and will be responsible: 
- To execute a pilot to verify the feasibility of a solution for mobile - fixed integration and using a desktop/laptop for setting up calls (Softphone applications). The pilot is based on Alcatel Open Touch or MS Lync. 
- Execute a product comparison between Alcatel Open Touch and MS Lync based on gathered functional requirements, product roadmaps and the as-is telecom environment. 
- Design the Back End architecture for the pilot and end point device roadmap. 
- Coordinate the procurement of the required hardware and build of the pilot environment. 
- Prepare and coordinate the pilot.

To execute a pilot to verify the feasibility of a Telecom Expense Management (TEM) solution. In corporation with procurement and the regional telecom service managers: 
- Gather requirements and acceptance criteria for the pilot. 
- Define tender documentation and select a TEM vendor. 
- Coordinate the build of TEM solution. 
- Coordinate the execution of the pilot.

Hard skills:
- Proven experience in managing and designing telecom infrastructures for multinationals based on

Philips Sopho, IP telephony - Alcatel Lucent OXE, SIP and TEM.
- Experience with telecom vendors.
- Knowledge about Enterprise voice roadmaps of Alcatel Lucent and

Microsoft.
- Able to manage subprojects independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (Dutch, English).

The candidate needs a hands-on mindset, shows fast results, and has demonstrated good communication skills, especially in a global IT organization. To achieve the project goals the candidate is able to liaise directly with local IT support, end-users and business representatives.

Hours a week: 40 hours.
