Telecom Analyst

Position: Telecom Analyst

Duration: 6 month contract

Location: Atlanta, GA 30308 (Downtown)

Our client is seeking a Telecom Analyst for a 6 month contract role in Downtown Atlanta. The Infrastructure Operations Center is responsible for monitoring and problem resolution related to my client's Information Technologies Infrastructure. These infrastructure components include but are not limited to: Mainframe, distributed computing systems, SCADA, AMI/TGB systems, network and telecommunications systems.

Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for monitoring and managing my client's telecommunication, data networking, and voice infrastructure. This includes frontline diagnosis and problem resolution of all three technology areas.

This is a 24/7 support role and candidates need to be open to a rotating shift including some nights and weekends.

REQUIREMENTS:

- A formal education in Computer Science or Telecommunications and/or 2~3 years of experience in data or telecommunications computing infrastructure environments are highly desired for this position.
- Fundamental or basic knowledge in distributed computer networks including but not limited to: Routers, Switches, hubs, digital transport, fiber optic transport (including SONET and DWDM), microwave radio, wireless, voice (Including VOIP), SCADA systems, TGBs and Firewalls. Including fundamental knowledge of the interconnectivity and convergence between the technologies.
- Basic knowledge of the functionality of the Infrastructure Event Management Tools and the support tools and resources available to the frontline for resolving problems including but not limited to: Netcool and Telenium.
- Ability to interface and coordinate repair efforts with external telecommunications companies that my client utilizes as partners or service providers.
