TELCOM EMBEDDED SOFTWARE DESIGN LEAD
Our client is a very large IT system integrator with global presence and over $7 billion turnover annually. They are in need of Design Leads in Telcom domain, please find the details regarding the role below.
*JOB DESCRIPTION
To create a concept of how the product would appear to the user in terms of information layout and workflow through the screens & enhance the user experience/usability of the product.
(1.) To test with sample users to ensure that the developed output meets the requirements specified.
(2.) To understand the current product (heuristic evaluation)| competitor product analysis| customer feedback.
(3.) To understand the features/tasks related to the new product.
(4.) To conventionalize the screens and wire framing them| sharing with all stakeholders and iterate the wireframe screens.
(5.) To create and manage work plans of the designers ( Team Members) and guide and mentor team members
(6.) To understand the user and create a persona (user description) and scenario (interaction with product).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT
Typical tasks
Design and implement Embedded SW for Telecom equipment, including:
Low level device drivers
Real Time applications
Non Real Time applications for system management (equipment handling, alarm handling)
Implementation of L2/L3 protocols on Embedded systems, driving high complexity devices (High speed FPGAs, ASICs, SoCs, Ethernet Switches)
Debugging of the code and verification at unit level
Participation to XFT (Cross Functional teams) activities during development projects
Occasionally, participation to Customer support activities, both remotely and on customer site
Emergency corrections of faults detected on field
IMPORTANT COMPETENCES FOR THE JOB ARE:
University degree in Electronics, Telecommunications or SW Engineering
Advanced knowledge of programming in C
Good knowledge of Java and Object Oriented programming
Experience in programming Linux Kernel
Experience of Real Time operating systems
Good knowledge of Ethernet/IP Networks and protocols
Knowledge of SW Versioning concepts, applied preferably on Clear Case and/or GIT
We will appreciate:
Familiarity with Radio transmission concepts
Familiarity with agile ways of working such as Scrum or Kanban
