Technician VTC Services
As part of the OPS Centre, the "VTC Services Section" NOC and Alternate "VTC Services Section" NOC are responsible for providing comprehensive capabilities regarding VTC Operations. This includes day-to-day VTC's, operational VTC's, exercise VTC's and High Level VTC's. Their primary tasks include, but are not limited to; VTC Consierge Services, VTC Scheduling Services, VTC Videobridging Services and VTC Recording, Playback and Streaming Services. It is the Agency's POC for connectivity incidents relating to VTC Services and Resources and in this regard it provides Service Desk capabilities. Additionally, "VTC Services Section" has monitoring capabilities for prioritised VTCs and scheduling capabilities for new delivered and Legacy equipment. The VTC NOC will handle and resolve VTC incidents up to Service Level 2, and escalate them if necessary. "VTC Services Section" will request support from CSU's in case of incidents that have to be resolved locally. The VTC NOC is manned 24/7.
VTC Resource and Service Management & Operations
- Operate VTC Consierge Services
- Operate VTC Scheduling Services
- Operate VTC Videobridging Services
- Operate VTC recording, playback and streaming services
- Installs, activates, de-activates, recovers and corrects VTC Resources and Services under direction of Level 3 VTC Engineers or Engineer (VTC)
- Creates, reports, tracks and closes VTC Resource and Service Trouble Tickets
- Monitors, collects and surveys VTC Resource and Service Trouble Tickets
- Identifies, verifies and diagnoses suspected trouble VTC Resources and Services through monitoring (active and pro-active)
- Performs corrective actions under direction of "VTC Services Section" Engineer or the Senior VTC Technician
- Marks faulty interfaces and subcomponents at the logical level
- Monitors and Reports VTC Resource and Service Performance and Quality
- Supports End-2-End VTC Service Testing
Primary Essential Experience:
- Minimum 3 years recent experience in VTC Operations
- Minimum 3 years recent practical experience configuring, installing and troubleshooting industry standard VTC Endpoints from both Polycom and Cisco
- Minimum 3 years recent practical experience configuring, installing and troubleshooting industry standard VTC Infrastructure Hardware from both Polycom and Cisco, including (Polycom RMX, MGC, RSS and Cisco MSE, Codian)
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in AV Control Systems (Crestron, AMX) with a good understanding of AV Systems configuration and monitoring
- Good knowledge of Video Conferencing Protocols and Standards
- Achieved industry standard certifications, such as Polycom Certified Video Conferencing Engineer or Cisco CCNA
- Experience with Conference Room Scheduling Solutions (MyVRM)
