Technician Engineering

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Work timings: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

- Assemble and test new and existing electrical and electro-mechanical prototypes and products.
- Assist engineers in the construction, assembly and testing of new and existing electro-mechanical fixtures, mechanical prototypes, along with various product and equipment designs throughout the development, verification, and qualification processes.
- Be responsible for the creation and implementation of method improvements in the Lab.
- With engineering direction, able to perform calculations and analysis on data collected from components and finished devices under test, and also perform testing at the qualification and validation levels using quantitative and qualitative metrics.
- Possess the ability to troubleshoot and evaluate technical problems.
- Safely utilization of standard electronic and mechanical test equipment and tools.
- Able to prepare draft and final test reports, generating conclusions where applicable.
- Work to document test procedures, setups, and results.

EDUCATION:

- Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
- Must possess a basic understanding of detailed electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, electrical and mechanical assembly, electrical and laboratory measurement equipment, statistics, materials selection and properties, and accepted testing methods.

EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum 3 years related experience with electronic instrumentation. Experienced in materials and components testing methods.
- Eight or more years working in design and manufacture of electromechanical devices. 
- Experience in performing complex and non-routine engineering and test measurements.
- Computer experience, including experience with word processing and spreadsheets.
- Prototyping experience with complex circuits, both digital and analog, including fabrication and soldering, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with LabView would be a plus.
- An understanding of printed circuit board layout, processing and testing techniques..
- Basic understanding of FDA & ISO Quality System Requirements and their application within a medical product development.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

- This job primarily requires sitting, standing, and walking. Requires frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Must have fine manipulation and grasping skills, as well as the ability to reach, twist, and bend on an occasional to frequent basis, in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Requires a demonstrated proficiency in use of standard office equipment - including computer.
