Technician Engineer

Technician Engineer required to provide support for assembly of prototypes and test harnesses and carry out testing in support of the engineering equipment.

Typical activities will include:
Build prototype assemblies both at PCB level and unit level.
Wiring and manufacture of high specification cable assemblies.
Modification to, and rework of, high density SMT PCB's.
Provide technical support to the Engineering design teams.
Escalates problems which are blocking progress of own work.
Adhere to company practices and policies, especially health and safety.
Quality and timeliness of own work
Undertake straightforward, well-defined tasks that are narrow in scope.

The successful candidate will have the below skills:
Competent with soldering and electronic rework and assembly to meet IPC610.
Modification to, and rework of, high density SMT PCB's.
Maintenance of logs and records of build status of electronic assemblies in development.
Experience of Production techniques for complex electronic circuits.
Builds prototypes and carries out testing with guidance.
Builds test boxes and wiring harnesses to meet test plan requirements.
Knowledge of best working practice in the lab, ESD and FOD precautions etc.
Certification to either IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620,IPC-7711/1721 or IPC-J-STD-001.
Candidates must be willing to undergo a security vetting procedure.
