Technician/Assistant Scientist - Netherlands

TECHNICIAN/ASSISTANT SCIENTIST/LEIDEN, NETHERLANDS/6 MONTHS CONTRACT/25 TO 40 EUR (PER HOUR)

JOB SCOPE

Follows day-to-day objectives and performs routine tasks according to established procedures.
Acts as an individual contributor
Recommends minor modifications to existing techniques, processes, systems or programs
Nature of Communication
Conveys basic messages related to assigned tasks through written and oral communication
Majority of interaction with immediate supervisor and other peers in the work group

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Executes experiments/tasks as assigned
- Submits data and outcomes to manager and follows directions on next steps
- Operates current laboratory equipment and instruments and adheres to laboratory safety and SOPs
- Follows standard procedures and suggests areas for improvement Information Management and Communication
- Supports accurate record keeping and experimental data with the use of statistical packages and standard databases
- Contributes data to tech reports and manuscripts Project Management
- Contributes data and ideas in research group and project meetings
- Assists project members to complete objectives
- May place orders in purchasing systems

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

- B.S. or B.A. degree in an appropriate discipline with experience, or experience (AS or no degree) and highly competent performance at non-exempt Senior Laboratory Associate level, or the equivalent training/experience

NON TECHNICAL SKILLS AND ADDITIONAL DETAILS

English required, Dutch is a plus

Downstream (DSP) experience requested; clarification/chromatography (ACTA), Diafiltration (UFTF)

MSc.'s or PhD's also welcome to apply.
