Technician

Client has an immediate need for a qualified Field Technician with 2-way communication equipment experience for a temp to hire position in Tucker, GA. The primary focus of this position is to handle field dispatched calls and to perform bench repairs on returned equipment as well as install 2-way communication systems. Cell phone systems exp is not applicable. Service calls range from repairing mobile radios in tractors to resolving programming problems at communication centers. Local area candidates are preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Troubleshooting 2-way communication equipment and systems
- Install mobile and fixed location 2-way communication equipment
- Perform remote diagnostics and repair
- 24/7 emergency response on a rotating schedule

REQUIREMENTS

- 2 year Electronics Degree or 5 years minimum experience in component level electronics repair
- Field and/or bench test experience with 2-way communications equipment
- Excellent soldering skills
- Basic knowledge of electronic circuits found in communication equipment such as audio, RF, digital, and microprocessor
- Ability to use test equipment such as service monitor, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, multimeter, frequency counter, watt meter
- Clean driving record
- Proficiency in network configuration
- Previous experience with Motorola SmartNet or SmartZone 2-way trunking systems
- Certified Electronics Technician (CET) is a plus
