Technical Writer/Technical Author/Document Controller - Cumbria

Amoria Bond are currently looking for a Technical Writer/Technical Author/Document Controller on a 6 month contract basis for a major manufacturing client in Cumbria.

The successful Technical Author will be providing technical input for engineering and manufacturing peers to define in-house product assembly and test procedures and documents in electronic format. This could include taking and editing of photographs to detail key processes and documenting HSE safety notes, QA hold and witness points.

The successful technical author will also provide technical and administrative assistance, for the Technical Administration Manager. We are searching for someone with strong communication skills, team ethic as well as ability to work autonomously and a strong eye for detail.
The role will be very hands-on, with significant time spent working on the manufacturing shop floor and within our test facilities. The successful candidate will be a self-starter capable of being delegated a package of work and completing to required high standards. The candidate must also be able to interpret basic engineering drawings, both at component and assembly level.

The successful Technical Author requires the following skills:
-Experience working on the manufacturing floor level and within testing environments
-Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings (component and assembly)
-Highly conversant with Microsoft Office software
-Good photo editing skills using appropriate software package
-Recognised technical diploma, ideally with experience in a mechanical design and/or manufacturing environment/apprenticeship.
