Technical Writer Programmer

Our high-visibility client is looking for Programmer/Writer to help support data center construction and operations.

To enable this, the technical publications team plays a vital role in getting customers up and running quickly and making sure that the details of their products are clearly described, easy to consume and follow.

The Programmer/Writer works with teams developing source control and content management to represent the needs of the documentation team and their customers. The Writer helps define the user interface and develops process documentation for writing team peers. Ideal candidates will have both a technical background that enables them to easily interact with Software Developers and a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality technical publications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Drive the development and produce peer documentation for document storage, source control, access, workflow, and reporting tools
- Read, review, and as directed, develop SQL queries
- Develop and test reports
- Work with peers to transfer content from Legacy storage

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- A minimum of 3 years in a technical writing role
- Experience using multiple documentation tools
- Experience using SQL queries
- Experience using CSS and PHP
- Strong grammar skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience working directly with development teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Degree in English, Technical Writing, or related field highly desirable
- Experience programming with Ruby on Rails or PHP
- Experience with XML-based publishing systems
- Proactive and open-minded attitude to resolving problems and delivering results
- Passion to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
