Technical Writer - Oil & Gas - Houston, TX

My client, a major operator, is looking for an experienced Oil & Gas (Upstream) Technical Writer. They are looking for someone who is a self-starter and can go in and hit the floor running. This is a 1-year contract role with opportunity to become long term. The officie is based in Houston, TX, on the Energy Corridor.

The ideal candidate will possess technical writing experience in one of the following areas: user manuals, documentation of systems or programs, training manuals, operational run books, installation guides, methods and procedures manuals, and articles regarding technical subject matter, e.g., products, systems, and facilities for technical newsletters or magazines. Interfaces with users, developers, trainers or trainees to update/revise documentation to reflect the most effective and concise terminology, best methods and practices (exercises), and new software features. Displays "hands-on" experience with the application being documented. Possesses familiarity with Method/1 Documentation. Requires experience gathering information and writing documentation.
