TECHNICAL WRITER is needed for a LONG TERM CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY for Yoh's client in Beaverton, OR.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Computer Lab Technician will work with computer systems, data acquisition hardware and software, IT tools and Technical Writer will create and/or edit technical documentation including text, illustrations and graphics and/or promotional papers and presentations (ie, application papers, product descriptions, catalogs, manuals/guides, commercial applications, brochures, product articles, etc.).
- Technical Writer will participate in planning and coordination meetings related to creating the documentation.
- Technical Writer will analyze and interprets data to determine appropriate syntax, style, and grammatical usage.
- Performs tasks related to the construction of technical and non-technical illustrations and graphics.
- Attend planning/coordination meetings to assess customer requirements.
- Responsibilities may include: overseeing preparation of illustrative material, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts, supporting slide/video production, serving as editor on specific publications including article selection, artwork coordination, productions and distribution.
- Proactively request feedback on document content from the designated functions and incorporate the feedback in the document content.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Minimum four (4) years of Technical Writing or relevant experience with technology products.
- Besides technical expertise, the ability to work in a highly matrixed and collaborative corporate environment is required.
- Apply expertise with database publishing tools and processes: CMS, DITA, XML, Apply Adobe* Acrobat* skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Expertise with Adobe* FrameMaker* on a Windows*-based PC (FM version 8 - 10)
- Knowledge of bookbuilding, Conditional Text, Variables and FrameScript*
- Expertise with Microsoft* Word*, PowerPoint*, and Excel*
- Ability to apply knowledge of technical communications industry standards, policies and procedures.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's of Arts or Sciences (BA/BS) in Technical Communication or an Engineering Discipline
- Knowledge of HTML/JavaScript, DITA/XML, program management/leadership.
- Experience and knowledge of PC industry, products and development processes desired
