Technical Writer - ICT Security Policy

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated ICT Security Policy Advisor to be part of the VANguard Service Support Team. The successful applicant will provide security policy advice and technical writing skills to ensure compliance with the branch's audit and security compliance activities. They will take the lead in developing policy and implementing strategies to further enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Branch's security practice and culture.

WORK REQUIREMENTS

- Provision of security policy advice and coordination of activities to facilitate VANguard's compliance with relevant government and industry security standards;
- Development and maintenance of VANguard's security documentation suite and operational procedures;
- Preparation and coordination of VANguard's security and risk assessments including but not limited to Threat Risk Assessments, Penetration Testing, IRAP assessments, Gatekeepers Audits and DSD reviews;
- Recommend project activities arising from security and risk assessments as required;
- Provision of advice and support to the VANguard Program for the administration of certificates and cryptographic roles;
- Provide breach and incident management and reporting;
- Maintain and coordinate security clearance applications as well as maintain and oversight records of security clearances;
- Provide technical writing skills including but not limited to operational procedures, security policies, system documentation, training scripts, session plans, and information booklets as directed;

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience (minimum of 5 years) in the provision of ICT security policy advice to ensure program compliance with relevant government and industry security standards.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining an ICT security documentation suite including but not limited to operational procedures, security policies, system documentation, training scripts, and fact sheets.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal security stakeholders, relevant external agencies, managers and project staff.
- Proven ability to develop policy and implement strategies to enhance security practice and culture including but not limited to the maintenance of security clearances, breach and incident management and reporting, staff information and training sessions.
