Technical Writer

For our international client in The Hague (NL) we are looking for a Technical Writer (2x FTE).

Start: 1-12-2015 (14-12-2015 latest)

Period: 6 months +

40 hours/week

We are currently looking for a dynamic Technical Writer to join the QA Support team, which supports the Dynamic Reservoir Modeling Development teams in developing their Dynamic Modeling products.

The Technical Writer will be tasked with editing and managing technical and end-user documentation/technical developer documentation for our primary reservoir simulation tool SRMS.

The writer will also be administering and maintaining our public Intranet pages.

Furthermore, the writer is expected to support and help coordinate other documentation management activities where it concerns the management of department documents on SharePoint.

Key 'Roles & Responsibilities' are:
Design, edit and maintain end user and technical developer documentation.
Administer and manage our Intranet site.
Administer and manage our SharePoint site.

Special challenges:

Our products are being developed in a dynamic and complex area which requires a lot of flexibility from the Technical Writer.

Key Competence Requirements :

Ability to work with highly technical/scientific documentation, including the generation of complex mathematical formulas
Experience in using Equation Editing tools
Knowledge of HTML or other mark-up languages and document structures (for example, XML)
Demonstrable IT skills, preferably with Linux
Ability to write technical documentation that is clear, concise, consistent, and accurate
Ability to deliver content through a variety of publication methods including on-line context-sensitive help, HTML and PDF publications
Three to five years of technical writing experience
Experience working with LateX
Experience working with Sandcastle, MadCap Flare and Document! X
Experience working with SVN
A degree in Technical Communication
Software development experience
Experience working with MS SharePoint and other Microsoft products
Experience working with document management systems
Fluent English speaking and impeccable written English
Excellent communication skills
Experience in designing and writing training material
Ability to work with different teams to create new documentation, update and maintain existing documentation
Excellent time management skills and able to manage and work independently on multiple concurrent projects of various sizes and complexity
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
