Title: Technical Writer

Location: Johns Creek, GA

Our client in Johns Creek, GA is seeking a talented Technical Writer for an exciting opportunity. As a Tech Writer you will be responsible for writing, editing and revising user documentation for our client's technology processes. The Technical Writer will have practical, relevant experience in compiling information through research, hands-on experience, and interviews with subject-matter experts. The Technical Writer will play a critical role in translating information into organized content for use by system facing users.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist in evaluating quality of existing policies, identify gaps, and partner with subject matter experts to update current policies and procedures as required
- Evaluate and document IT processes to ensure they are appropriately aligned with policy/procedures and determine whether a new policy or procedure is required
- Established subject matter expert on documentation, policy and procedure development

PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Develop and maintain help, user documents, release notes and other user facing software documentation
- Study software development and product design artifacts, and interacts with cross-functional team to understand product features
- Learn the software products through hands-on experience and self-study
- Participate in documentation project scheduling and planning meetings
- Complete writing assignments on time and with high quality
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Scope, define and create new documents

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of experience writing software documentation, including online help, user documentation, release notes and other relevant technical documents.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Sharepoint (this is flexible) and SnagIt
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to clearly express complex ideas and concepts
- Knowledge of best practices in technical communication
- Strong computer skills
- Comfortable with technology and software
- Ability to work and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability and desire to collaborate with others
