Technical Writer

Create a broad variety of technical documentation. Activities may include authoring, editing, rewriting documentation, authenticating technical user manuals, application papers, product descriptions, data sheets, online product documents, interactive product tutorials and specification books.

May make editorial and aesthetic improvements to documents and recommend new designs, layouts, and procedures. Act in a self-directed, consultant role to determine and understand internal and external customer needs for all things documentation - Analyzes requirements, develops source material, consults engineering and technical staff and works with editors, illustrators and the like in preparing a draft. Guides and directs in the areas of quality, graphics, coverage, format and style. Oversees adherence to specifications

Possible Travel up to 15%.

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Four year degree in Business or Technology related fields, or 5 or more years' experience in technical writing, proposal writing, or editing
Strong verbal, presentation, communication and analytical skills
Must have prior experience taking the 'leadership' role in developing the documentation
Experience with Adobe Captivate, Adobe RoboHelp, IBMS simulation Producer, Lectora, Microsoft Office Suite, Trivantis, Visio
