Technical Writer

For our client in The Hague we are looking for a technical writer.

Start: 1-7-2014
End: 1-7-2015
40 hrs./week
Hourly rate euro 50

Project/Delivery Line Description:
The contractor will be tasked with editing and managing technical and user documentation that are released with our primary reservoir simulation tools Dynamo and SRMS.
The writer will also be looking after our public Intranet pages and managing its content. Further, writer is expect to support and help coordinate other documentation management activities where it concerns the management of department documents on Sharepoint and Livelink.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- editing and maintaining user and technical documentation for our applications
- managing content of our Intranet "public" web pages
- document and site management in Sharepoint

Technical Skills and Experience:
MANDATORY:
- Used to working with highly technical/scientific documentation including the generation of complex mathematical formulas.
- Experience with Equation Editing tools.
- Knowledge of HTML or other document structures (eg SGML, DocBook, etc.).
- Sufficient IT background.

OPTIONAL:
- Experience working with LateX is a pro.
- Experience working with Sandcastle and .chm files is a pro
- A background education or degree in Communication would be preferred.
- Experience working with MS Sharepoint or other document management systems.

Soft Skills and Experience:
MANDATORY:
- Fluent (UK/US) English speaking
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently with relatively little guidance.
