TECHNICAL WRITER

SKILLS: MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, high level flow chars for process mapping, Documentation of Technical Process and Procedures/Ops Manuals

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Documentation and publication of department processes, policies, and procedures for Information Technology and Audio Visual services
- Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology, format and branding
- Create and maintain records and files of work and revisions.
- Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other staff members or establishment personnel.
- Confer with managers and technical staff to review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.
- Ability to take photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to integrate into materials.
- Complete typing, formatting and online publication of materials.
- Facilitate discussions with technical team to further detail documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of Technical Writing expertise with experience documenting processes, procedure manuals, policy writing, and operations manuals
- Experience doing the above for desktop support teams, AV and consulting groups a big plus!
- Creation of high level flow charts for process mapping.
- Tools: MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat,
- Optional: MS-Visio, Publishing tools
