For a project with the European Commission we are looking for a Technical Writer.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
The successful candidate will provide technical documentation for information systems.
THE CANDIDATE WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE ACTIVITIES LISTED BELOW (NON EXHAUSTIVE LIST):
- Creation and design of on-line instructional documentation for large user communities (grant beneficiaries, researchers, administrations, etc.)
- Integrate content in various media (wiki pages, Portal pages, PDF, MS Office formats)
- Integration of on-line help in information systems (web applications)
- Verification of the technical documentation against applications
- Documenting applications
- Drafting release notes
- Proofreading, editing and formatting text used in graphical user interfaces (eg navigation menus, labels, prompt messages, etc.)
WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONSThe work will be carried out on a Full time basis at the Commission's premises in Brussels. The service providers will have frequent meetings in the Commission's services in Brussels with the Research DGs and their agencies (RTD, CNECT, ENTR, MOV, ENER, REA, and ERC) and occasional meetings in the Commission's premises in Luxembourg. The working languages are both English and French.
OTHER PRECISIONSThe candidates shall have:
- The experience stated in the framework contract for the requested profile.
- Practical experience proving the capability to execute the tasks described in § 2.
- Proven experience in writing clear instructional content for web applications aimed at large user communities
- Excellent knowledge of English (spoken, written) and if possible, of French (optional).
- Rapid self-starting capability and experience in team working.
