Technical Sybase DBA - Investment Banking

Sybase DBA, Murex, Summit.

I have an exciting and challenging role for a very hands on technical DBA, you will be Providing primary support of all Sybase ASE and Replication Server as well as application DBA support of Misys Summit application, performing application releases, app/data patching. Along side this you will be expected to participate in database development, tuning and optimization expertise to application development and support team on a continual basis.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

- Proactively monitor all database systems utilizing vendor supplied and our standard tools.
- Maintain complete inventory, configuration and documentation of deployed systems.
- Identify operational and infrastructure risks within the environment and work with the application development and support team to make corrections and mitigate risks.
- Liaise with system Engineers in troubleshooting issues.
- Maintain top-notch technical skills and financial business knowledge through proactive self-learning.

KEY SKILLS:

- Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise 15.0.3 and 15.7 
- Sybase IQ 15.4 or 16.0 with Multiplex Grid' and option
- Sybase Replication Server 15.7 (unidirectional replication and warm standby)
- Transact-SQL
- Financial Industry experience is a must
- Must have extensive and proven troubleshooting, recovery, DB and opp optimization and administration experience in a large and mission critical enterprise environments (50 managed Servers)
- Strong experience on Linux platforms
- GOOD TOOLS EXPERIENCE: Interactive SQL, DB Artisan, CVS, TSM Client
- Shell Scripting (ksh)

Experience with Financial Market's applications: Summit or Murex would be advantageous and candidates with these application knowledge will be given preference.
