Technical Support Technician (Desktop Support)

Link Technologies is currently seeking a Technical Support Technician (Desktop Support) for a contract position with our client in Las Vegas, NV.

POSITION SUMMARY

As part of the IT Hardware Support Team (desktop), this role provides second and third level support for all questions, problems, and service requests related to all desktop computer technologies as it applies to the business.

Basic characteristics of this position include a broad technical support background in desktop hardware, operating systems, networking, and software, good people skills, mature troubleshooting abilities, and a willingness to help both technical and non-technical customers work though computer related problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 4-6 years of hands on, Level 2 desktop computer technical support.
- Working knowledge and experience with Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems.
- Working knowledge and experience with the latest Microsoft Office products
- Working knowledge and experience with Lenovo Intel based desktop configurations
- Experience supporting various I/O devices (desktop printers, scanners, plotters, etc.)
- Working knowledge and experience in network connectivity methods
- Working knowledge and experience with software imaging and software roll-out products
- Working knowledge of remote access support methods
- Basic Mac/Apple support
- A+ Certification

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS

- Proficient in use and support of mobile rugged laptops (we are using Panasonic and Itronix rugged and semi-rugged laptops) with cellular wireless connectivity and VPN connectivity
- Experience working with GPS and mobile vehicle mount
- MOU Certification
- MCP
- MCSE
- Network+

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

- Capable of lifting 50 pounds
- Capable of working under desktops and in semi-cramped quarters
- Capable of working outdoors
- While performing the duties of this job, the contractor is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear, in person and by telephone, use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate computers and other standard office equipment, and reach with hands or arms. Contractor needs to be able to work a ten-hour shift. Specific vision abilities by this assignment include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Some assignments require the ability to distinguish colors and shades.
