Technical Support Engineer - BSS & IT/VAS

SQL/ORACLE/LINUX

ROLE:  TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER                                     

REPORTING TO:  Project Manager                                                         

(1)  RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY RESULT AREAS

- Perform implementation and/or operation activities of BSS & IT/VAS products, including testing, deployment, troubleshooting, maintenance, documentation and knowledge transfer.
- Define, create & execute manual and automated tests as needed for the entire business solution.
- Update and track test results, issues and associated test frameworks in partnership with development team.
- Identify, diagnose, report, and assist development team in resolving defects and verifying bug fixes.
- Taking ownership of technical issues, and working with our Development group to resolve more advanced issues when necessary.
- Perform Operation & Maintenance activities, including incident & problem handling, routine check, monitoring, testing, service request handling, updates & patches implementation and other maintenance tasks.

(2) COMPETENCIES - TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL AND MANAGERIAL

Technical/Functional:

- Deep understanding of database management systems and operating systems as well as Servicer, Storage and Security.
- SQL/ORACLE/LINUX certifications or a college project that you were involved in is considered a plus.
- Prefer candidates possessing commercial experience in IT or VAS (Value-Added Service) software implementation and operation.
- Knowledge of QA/Testing processes and methodologies including execution and automation of tests.
- Experience in creating test environments and knowledge of performance test tools and simulators.
- Knowledge of bug tracking systems & defect management systems.
- FLUENCY IN ENGLISH IS MANDATORY.

(3)  LEVEL OF INTERACTION - EXTERNAL & INTERNAL

- High level of external communication with telco customers and partners across the world
- Rich internal communication, coordination experience of 20+ team project..
- Display strong initiative in resolving issues of customers.
- Ability to interact with diverse customers in a multi-cultural environment.

(4) EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

- Bachlor or Master of Technical Degree, from a reputed institute and 3-5 years of telecom experience.
- Rich experience in leading telcos IT system Infrastructure Implemenation.
- Soundable Technical Team management experience
- Rich experience in BSS system integration delivery methodology, including analyst, implementation, migration

(5)  PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

- Should be a very good technical leader with rich domain knowledge as well as balancing capability to step forwards.
- Should be willing for frequent travel to different cities/countries for customer interaction. Most of the travels will be of short durations, which is 3 months, some travels will be even longer based on need of business.
- Should be very approachable and open to communicate with difference level both of internal and external with very mature soft skills
