Technical Support Engineer - Java/Unix
12 month contract - Temp to Perm
€325 per day

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join their team on site in Antwerp assisting with their 2nd Line Support and Technical Development Operations. Our client is a lead within their industry and in turn for hard work and dedication they offer great working environments with the chance to develop and train alongside like minded, hard working professionals.
Main Activities
*First time implementation of new developments before hand over to operations, Manage and document the technical handover.
*Assist development, defining and optimising the operational design for new developments
*Define, build, execute different types of testing to analyse operational behaviour of the applications
*Assist when needed on Office automation/development Servers operational tasks and projects.
Professional Skills
*Good Unix administration knowledge (AIX, Linux preferred, but other Unix's acceptable)
*Good understanding of IP Networks.
*Knowledge of Database administration (operational, not data admin) is an asset.
*Scripting skills (Shell, Perl ) are an asset.
*A fascination with, and a practical approach to software operations is a must
Personal Skills
*Accountability for results
*Customer focus
*Communication skills
*Fluent written and spoken English imperative
*Team player, but also able to work autonomously
Relevant Job Experience:
*Master degree in computer sciences
*3 years experience.
