Technical Support Engineer

I am currently looking for a technical Support Engineer, for a client in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Location: Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Duration: till the end of 2014.

Technical: Our ideal candidate has a great love for software technology. You will have acquired skills as a software testing professional and/or software developer or alternatively will have the basic skills and motivation to grow into one of these areas relatively quickly.

Support: This should be firmly Embedded in your character. The desire to help and not give up before a solution has been found is of paramount importance. Committed to customer satisfaction, dedicated to service.

Engineer: You think in innovative ways and are focused on solutions. You will identify bugs and develop effective workarounds so that our customers will be back in business in no time at all.

Responsibilities:
You are a strong team player but also a strong individual who can independently, and in a team, efficiently resolve client issues.

You have a passion for troubleshooting and helping clients find workarounds for problems or issues they encounter with our tools you know when to escalate to development and you can duplicate client issues for filing defects. You like to write accurate documentation of known issues and workarounds for internal and external publication.

Your daily job will involve the analysis of customer issues on a wide range of Testing technologies. You will participate in the support of one or more of the following products:

Rational Functional Tester and Rational Quality Manager.

We expect you to have matured the following skills

- Educated to degree level
- 2 Years experience in Information Technology with a specialization in software development and testing
- Knowledge of testing principles and possibly testing tools
- Fluency in German and English (French also welcome)
- Knowledge of Object Oriented Languages (Java, C++, VB, C#, Java platform or .NET environment) at a level in which the code at least is understood
- At least the basics of Databases (Oracle, SQL, DB2)
- Windows operating systems experience as advanced user
- Eclipse - experience as a user
- Application Servers (such as Tomcat or WebSphere Application Server)
- Able to write or test code samples using IDEs (Microsoft Visual Studio)
