Technical Support Engineer

Projektbeschreibung

For this contract position with a rapidly growing automation solutions company, you will provide administrative and office support activities for Engineering Managers and "Level 1" customer support, both technical and administrative, via phone and email.

Duties may include fielding telephone calls and emails, receiving and directing visitors, word processing, filing, and scanning. Excellent software skills are required (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as Internet research abilities and strong communication skills. Strong technical skills are required, including electronics training. Candidates must be highly professional and capable of ensuring discreet handling of all business.

PRIORITIES:

- Answer or redirect customer support inquiries and assure prompt responses
- Greet and direct visitors, redirect incoming phone calls
- Relieve management of administrative detail, all projects
- Track projects and chase delegated tasks to ensure progress to deadlines
- Compile and maintain procedures and customer support records

COMMUNICATION:

- Work with engineers to compile and communicate new technical responses for customers
- Compose correspondence/reports for own or manager's signature
- Arrange essential mail in priority action order
- Check deadlines on incoming requests and put preliminary work in play
- Process replies on own initiative or from management's notes
- Research, draft or abstract reports; prepare presentation materials

PHONE:

- Arrange "callbacks" to protect management's time
- Provide back-up materials for callbacks
- Route calls elsewhere as needed
- Do phone surveys/inquiries as needed

APPOINTMENTS/MEETINGS:

- Maintain calendar for management
- Fix commitments to maximize time efficiency; allow decision/desk time
- Prepare agenda in advance
- Arrange meeting facilities
- Act as recording secretary; prepare action minutes
- Order and receive catering

TRAVEL:

- Arrange travel through internal or outside agents
- Prepare itinerary, trip file and supplies
- Prepare expense report tools for management
- Complete expense reports after trip

DATA ENTRY AND MANAGEMENT:

- Data entry, maintenance, and analysis of Returned Materials database
- Compile and update FAQs for routine customer issues
- Compile and report customer support logs and summaries

PROJECTS:

- Handle administrative detail, all projects

This contract position is expected to be 12 months in duration.
