Projektbeschreibung

RM Education provides IT service to Bromley College under a Managed Service Agreement and we are looking for a Technical Support Consultant who will provide excellent senior (3rd line) IT support directly to the customer and the onsite IT Support Teams. As Technical Support Consultant you will also provide technical expertise in developing the IT Infrastructure and IT Project Development work.

The College has a modern IT infrastructure, with over 2,600 PCs and laptops, high-speed networking, secure and guest wireless systems, Windows Server 2008 architecture with server and some desktop virtualisation.

This is a challenging role in a fast-paced but very rewarding environment. Working as part of a highly supportive team, you will be required to travel between customer sites to support the delivery of Managed Services providing high quality technical support and guidance.

Key responsibilities

Provide additional technical support to Customer Service Engineers during peak workloads
Provide specialist knowledge and guidance to issue resolution
Implementing changes to the ICT Provision in line with requests made by the customer through the Change Process.
Work in an advisory or learning capacity alongside the Customer Service Engineers and Technical Account Manager in providing technical solutions to the customer's requirements and setting customer expectations.
Call analysis, initiating and conducting investigations and problem solving
Know and understand the IT Service Delivery targets for the contract and be proactive in ensuring that these are achieved.

Skills & experience

- Experience of maintaining, supporting and developing Microsoft networks and Servers.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft server platforms
- Strong knowledge of some of the following: SQL Server, Exchange, Sharepoint, IIS, SCCM/SCOM, VMWare (or Hyper-V), Symantec Backup Exec.
- Excellent working knowledge network Switches and protocols including VLAN's and performance monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of Proxy filtering, Firewall and end-to-end support.
- Knowledge of Windows 7 desktop and desktop software packaging and deployment.
- A recognised technical qualification (HND, degree) including holding an industry standard qualification such as MCSE.
- Ability to problem solve and think creatively
- Excellent customer handling and inter-personal skills
- Ability to cope with change and adapt quickly to a new and developing type of service delivery
- The ability to work proactively with good planning and organisation skills
- A valid UK driving license
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A flexible approach to evening and weekend working
- Familiar with spreadsheet and word processing packages to enable the production of reports and records
