Technical Specialist II (Sales Support)

The Technical Specialist II must maintain advanced technical and sales knowledge to provide basic to complex technical support to clients while following standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.Close new business opportunities and service existing customer base for a broad range of OEM Servers and storage products (EMC, NetApp, IBM, Cisco, Arista, F5, HP).

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

- Primary interface for client requests for quotes and technical support
- Generate and validate OEM configurations for network, server and storage configurations per customer requirements
- Support contact for ad hoc professional services assignments
- Create technical drawings detailing customer configurations
- Support customers with server and storage technical expertise; participate in customer discussions when evaluating project requirements
- Research and evaluate new products to fill customer needs and provide supporting information to clients as appropriate
- Provide innovative solutions and strategies to solve complex issues and client's business problems
- Maintain current standard configurations for major platforms sold
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of quotation and determine product availability
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with OEM vendors and maintain constant interaction
- Address incoming customer and vendor emails and calls
- Develop competitive knowledge and leverage in sales cycle
- Achieve and maintain OEM certifications for product lines sold
- Solid knowledge of the organization: products; and/or services

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum of 3 years experience in computer/reseller industry preferred
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
- Ability to understand, master, and train others on highly technical concepts
- Desire and ability to achieve new certifications as requested
- Detail-oriented, excellent prioritizing and multi-tasking capabilities
- Exhibits good project planning and time management skills
- Ability to work as a team, yet work independently

- Technical awareness of industry terminology and standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio
