Yoh has a contract opportunity for a TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER to join our client in Burlington, WA.

JOB OVERVIEW:

- Lead the technical services team, and participate, in the quoting, design, certification, documentation and maintenance of complex commercial aircraft interior products and reconfiguration programs.
- Directly responsible to the General Manager Commercial for the overall operations of Technical Support, Design Engineering, Technical Writing, Program Certification and Document Control.

Job Responsibilities:

- Consistently meets the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers, communicates status of deliverables and meets on delivery promise
- Stays current with regulatory requirements associated with interior component and installation design and certification, keeps team informed and effectively incorporates changes to design system to ensure requirements are met
- Manages design budget to ensure cost of deliverables do not exceed plan
- Anticipates potential risks accurately, tracks them and drives to effective, timely solutions that meet goals
- Effectively works with team members to resolve issues related to design and machine programming data
- Quickly identifies critical priorities, adjusts team focus accordingly and eliminates road blocks
- Anticipates future consequences and trends accurately using broad knowledge and perspective and creates competitive and breakthrough design improvement strategies and plans
- Holds regular meetings to discuss process and team development, remains aware of direct report's career goals and provides challenging tasks and assignments to help growth and builds team to fulfil department goals
- Continually exceeds goals successfully, steadfastly pushes self and others for effective results
- Technical Effort Management
- Supervises the creation and execution of technical development plans and directs revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
- Ensures technical team members keep program manager and internal customers well informed of status of development effort and oversees liaison of such
- Collaborates with lead technical member to assign tasks to the appropriate team members to support program and operational support needs
- Owns program design and certification life cycle and is responsible for managing technical risks in collaboration with the program manager, program team and assigned technical members
- Coordinates efforts with technical and certification subcontractors to meet program deliverables; provide subcontractors with specifications and manufacturing data to support their efforts
- Communicates and enforces design process standards
- Reviews design system and mentors junior technical members
- Manages technical resources within budget and program schedule
- Consistently delivers high-quality services to our clients
- Solution Development and Delivery
- Provides technical direction, manages team and assists with the development, design, integration and certification of commercial aircraft interior reconfigurations from customer engagement through installation using established OEM installation data and part catalogs
- Evaluates incoming program/technical requests for feasibility, capability and capacity and appropriately assigns them to the technical team
- Works with technical team to define program design costs, approves and communicates them to the program manager and ensures they're maintained
- Manages technical team in support of interdepartmental technical, design, machine programming and tooling requests
- Assists program managers with development of the work breakdown structure and risk mitigation
- Assists with identification of alternate solutions where the preferred solution is unattainable
- Applies significant knowledge of industry and regulatory standards to maintain design compliance
- Reviews and approves work of technical team and ensures company, regulatory and customer design and quality requirements are met
- Recognizes design deficiencies and implements effective solutions

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in commercial aircraft engineering or relevant equivalent experience required
- Understands all technical and certification elements of complex commercial aircraft interior reconfiguration programs and effectively employs techniques to support program goals.
- Possesses demonstrated work experience with more than seven (7) years commercial aircraft interiors reconfiguration design and certification.
- Understands design of components made from composite, formed sheet, block, extruded metals and plastics.
- Experience with reading and understanding commercial aviation component and installation design, drawings, process specifications, AIPC's, CMM's, and guidance documents
- Experienced using the Boeing On Line Drawing and Airbus OneWorld systems
- Experienced using manufacturer's drawing collector systems and can apply experience to identify delivered and target component installations
- Experience with checking drawings and design data developed by other team members and communicate findings
- Has a working knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements relative to CFAR 14 parts 21, 25, 121 and 145 and equivalent EASA regulations as applicable to interior changes and component design
