TECHNICAL SERVICES DELIVERY MANAGER/INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT MANAGER

Technical Services Delivery Manager/Infrastructure Project Manager required with the ability to manage the delivery of eCommerce environments to a growing number of Salmon clients. Managing and co-ordinating Internal technical specialists, 3rd party product vendors, environment hosters and Client technical resources. You will be required to define, plan, organise and manage the build of new infrastructure environments as well as the deployment of software applications and custom code to support the development project life cycle. In addition you will be called upon to help support pre-sales activities in scoping, estimating, sizing and liaising with technical 3rd parties.

The challenges faced include different architectures, application components and their interaction and managing a variety of clients.  The candidate would also be expected to define best practice and ensure the team's solutions are scalable and repeatable.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Successful candidates will have at least 2 years infrastructure project management experience within an IT environment which ideally has included the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects to time and budget and the management of technical staff at activity level.  

The ideal candidate will understand the architecture and issues around deploying E-commerce solutions in a web multi-tiered environment and have demonstrable experience in the following areas:

- Ability to communicate succinctly to both Client and internal project managers, including the ability to articulate complex technical solutions to a non technical audience and to manage expectations.
- Be comfortable delivering several infrastructure projects concurrently and ensuring appropriate prioritization of delivery.   
- Understand a Web development life cycle & support processes eg ITIL
- Strong leadership skills with proven track record managing and leading a team
- Appreciation of dealing with 3rd party suppliers including hosted environments using HP, Sun, Dell or IBM hardware and associated network, switch and routing kit
- Pre-sales engagements including production of documents, sizing, licences, hosting, capacity

It would be beneficial if the candidate has exposure across some of the following areas:- - O/S include - Linux (RedHat & SUSE), UNIX flavours, SLES, AIX, Linux, Windows
- IBM Http WebServer or Windows IIS
- IBM WebSphere Application Server, Tomcat
- IBM WebSphere Commerce
- IBM MQ Series
- IBM DB2 Database Server
