Technical Proposal Writer

seeking a Technical Proposal Writer to develop a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning consulting services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop and use in-depth interview techniques for gathering substantive input from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and conduct interviews with SMEs in sufficient detail to develop requirements relevant to RFP development.
- Conduct research on the appropriate subject matter for the RFP, including interviewing subject matter experts, researching on-line materials, and other substantive source material to write and produce proposal sections.
- Research, write and edit material for development of RFP, presentations and other related assignments.
- Act with significant autonomy in working with IT personnel and subject matter experts and subcontractors to compile and optimize their proposal contributions.
- Organize source material and write descriptive and compelling proposal material according to County RFP standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
- Perform final quality control review before RFP is delivered to County Procurement Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- At least 5+years of proposal writing and coordination experience in IT.
- Self-starter that can work independently and exercise judgment on a regular basis with minimal oversight along with a "can do" attitude with willingness to take a "hands on" approach.
- Solid knowledge of developing Request for Proposals.
- Strong commitment to performing and producing at the highest level of quality at all times.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
- Solid research, writing, proofing, formatting and editing skills.
- Great oral and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Superior attention to details is a must.
- BA or BS Degree in related field.
