ABOUT THE SECTION

The technical services department within ICT are a vibrant team focused on understanding customer requirements and implementing top end systems using a variety of resources available to them. They play a vital part in keeping the Councils ICT's systems running smoothly and efficiently

THE ROLE:

THE TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER will be responsible for supporting the team across a variety of projects and taking project lead in a demand driven environment. Projects will include: voice and data networks, server,SAN and desktop, operating system upgrades, virtualisation technologies, software tools, application hosting, telephony services, print services, connectivity, security, backups and accommodation moves.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a commitment to service improvement and best practice, who can work closely and constructively with ICT colleagues, business stakeholders and suppliers, using influencing skills appropriately to obtain buy-in to proposed solutions and targets.  Within an environment of constant change, you are able to deal with conflicting priorities and high workload and will promote the positive benefit of change to improve services and achieve goals.

Educated to degree level in ICT or similar or with equivalent professional experience, you will already have, or be committed to study for, Prince2 Foundation/Practitioner and ITIL V3 qualifications.

Hackney ICT systems are supported 0800-1900. Contractual hours are 36 per week but you will also need flexibility to cover shifts and work outside normal working hours from time to time in line with the demands of the services.
