Technical Project Manager

Yoh has a 6-12 month contract opportunity for a TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER to join our client, a Video Content Management company in Downtown Seattle, WA.

JOB OVERVIEW:

This company helps content providers, broadband media sites, and mobile businesses solve their unique media publishing requirements. Customers include A+E, Comcast, Fox Sports Network, British Telecom, Rogers, Time Warner Cable, Liberty Global and numerous others.

Our Project Managers assign resources and create preliminary schedules and track progress of all resources (programmer management, development, QA, and IT). If the project manager sees the project going over time or budget, they are responsible for proactive solutions to bring the project back in scope.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Creates and executes project and workstream plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Identifies resource requirements for design and delivery and works with Solution Architects and development teams to create appropriate user stories to be scheduled and tracked for the project.
- Manages project governance and implements and manages appropriate levels of change control and reporting internally and within client organizations.
- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope control.
- Participates in daily scrums and sprint retrospectives.
- Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
- Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.
- Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
- Minimizes our exposure and risk on project delivery.
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Co-ordinate the transition of finished projects to the internal and client support groups.

PROJECT ACCOUNTING
- Drafts project cost based on scope and planning.
- Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
- Manages project budget.
- Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.
- Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
- Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization.

CLIENT MANAGEMENT
- Manages day-to-day client interaction and communication.
- Sets and manages client expectations.
- Manages conflict resolution with client delivery concerns.
- Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
- Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
- Builds a knowledge base of each client's business, organization and objectives.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience working with IPTV providers.
- Five to seven (5 - 7) years of experience preferably in a technology environment.
- Knowledge of rich media and content management.
- Understanding of and experience with the full software development life cycle, including functional and technical specification, implementation, QA processes, deployment, and maintenance.
- Understanding of Web Services technologies, including SOA, SOAP, REST and related standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- High level of commitment.
- Experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Groovy and XML a plus.
- Understanding of Project management concepts.
- Proficiency in MS Project or other planning tools.
- Understanding and application of agile development and project management concepts.
- Proficiency in a second language.
