Technical Project Lead

PROJECT OR ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

- Own and drive the refresh of IT infrastructure (Desktops, Hosting) used in organisation's lab R&D environments (5 locations, typically associated with specialty R&D equipment
- OIL
- Windows desktop (Win-10, Win-7) refresh;
- Linux refresh, Windows 2K8/SQL refresh, Citrix refresh;
- (Desktop) refresh experience;
- Working knowledge of Application compatibility and remediation;
- Special Business applications used in a Laboratory R
- Against Win-10 LTSC;
- Ideally needs to know about the organisation's Desktop refresh process and tooling;
- Client Asset Refresh process;
- Working with DXC/TCS on-site support;

Working knowledge of the organisations tooling:

- ADIM, SCCM, AD, RA tool;
- APEX - IT managed applications (and hence Desktop infra);
- Asset manager, ServiceNow, eMRF;
- Discovery tools - Flexnet/Browsium.
- General project planning, reporting and stakeholder management;
- Working with delivery teams
- On-site Business owners of Lab equipment and/or applications;
- Steering committee, milestone reporting.

CHALLENGES

- The Laboratory R&D Landscape is highly specialized, typically comprising of non-standard IT Desktop infra, applications & services associated with R
- Accountability of IT regarding the Labs infrastructure is not always clear, with underlying;
- Asset data quality issues and/or not available;
- High dependency on (older versions) of specialized Labs applications, requiring application compatibility evaluation/upgrades against Win-10 LTSC.

TECHNICAL SKILL AND EXPERIENCE

- Previous experience working in PT preferred;
- KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE IN THE LAB ENVIRONMENT IN THE OIL
- Ability to work in virtual teams, across time, geographical, and cultural boundaries;
- PMI (PMP) and Agile certified;
- SCRUM Master certified (preferred);
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

- Proven track record of successfully managing projects on-time, within budget and scope;
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, both oral and written;
- Able to influence the thoughts
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task;
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with customers, leaders as well as team members;
- Knowledge and practical application of IT for the organisations Project Excellence standards;
- Demonstrates leadership; motivating & encouraging others to get results.
