Technical Project Lead

The proposed Thames Tideway Tunnel (TTT) is a major new sewer to prevent the discharge of tens of millions of tonnes of untreated sewage into the tidal River Thames every year. It is one of the largest construction projects of its type in Europe. Tunnel construction on the project is due to start in 2016 and will involve 24 construction sites across London.

At this exciting time we are looking for a talented, experienced person to support the delivery of the Primavera P6 Upgrade workstream, from version 7.1 to version 8.3. The role will act as a lead on all Technical Aspects of Primavera, and will lead this IT Project as part of the IS Programme Team. The Project Lead will manage the TTT Hosting Partner to deliver technical changes whilst at the same time ensuring the Planning Group's requirements are fully met, as laid out in technical documentation. It should be stressed that this is an IT role and requires some knowledge of WebLogic, Citrix and P6 8.3 as well as current server technology and VMware.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE ARE:- - To serve as a technical expert for Primavera P6 (client and web)
- Liaise with Project Services - Planning & Scheduling for the P6 Upgrade project
- Fully support the P6 Upgrade project including implementation and training
- Work with the Hosting partners on all upgrade and post-upgrade aspects
- Provide P6 version 8.3 system expertise
- Provide technical support in the areas of database installation and configuration.
- Fully support the application testing process.
- Assist in the application training program (as required).
- Participate in meetings - represent Project Services as appropriate.
- Comply with policies, processes & standards, to ensure compliance.
- Comply with Health, Safety, Security & Environment policies & standards to maintain a safe workplace.

You will need the following experience, skills and competencies, education and qualifications:- EXPERIENCE

- Experience in a similar project controls system based role ideally within a construction and engineering environment.
- Practical experience and understanding of Primavera P6 (v8 and above and all prior versions).
- Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Business and technically focussed.

- Self-starter with experience working independently.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Degree or equivalent experience in relevant discipline (IT, IM)
