TECHNICAL PROGRAM PRODUCT MANAGER SEATTLE, WA 6 MONTH CONTRACT

Are you looking for new challenges that will allow your leadership skills to shine? We are looking for a strong team player, with proven leadership capabilities, a solid program management background, entrepreneurial attitude, and executive presence. In this role you will be responsible for driving large, complex, cross-organizational projects that will enable our enterprise client to expand globally into new marketplaces and new businesses. You will be in charge of scoping and delivering large projects end-to-end, including leading other Technical Program Managers and Software Developers. Responsibilities include collection of business and systems requirements from internal and external customers, writing functional specifications, and new features, define project plan from design to release, and managing the production launch teams and schedule.

You are expected to be able to work independently, and have an effective, clear and concise communication style with audiences of both technical engineers and executives. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a Technical Program Manager, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, analyze and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical skills, and leadership are essential to succeeding in this role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role
- 5+ years experience managing software development projects with aggressive schedules
- 2+ years experience managing distributed teams
- Experience managing efforts in Unix/Linux environments, distributed systems and/or developing large scale web applications

YOU MUST BE ABLE TO:

- Interact with executives, engineers, technical program managers and multiple development teams to define and deliver complex features
- Effectively lead projects and tasks execution with efficient delivery of the large, complex projects
- Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, analyze and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
- Maximize resources for the greater good of the organization
- Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels
- Create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders
- Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to comfortably and confidently present to all levels within the enterprise and to work with both technical and non-technical audience
- Proven track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
- Fluency and comfort with large business applications such as payment systems, order processes, localization
- Project management, Process Improvement or Quality certifications desired (eg PMP, Lean or Six Sigma)
