Technical Program Manager

We need a Technical Program Manager to help design and execute large-scale programs using our Connected Services Automotive Platform.

Our company is developing a JAVA based platform for Toyota for their new Camry. The unit sits on the head unit of the car and allows your phone to communicate with the head unit. Our group is developing cutting edge technology in the automotive space. We are integrating mobile phone connectivity for vehicles, enabling Toyota, Ford and other driving environments to safely access services like Pandora, iHeart Radio, Bing, OpenTable, Movie Tickets, and more.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, software engineers, quality assurance testers, and product teams to design and shape the platform, services, and system which support innovative features within the automotive industry. You will participate in customer-facing requirements gathering meetings, drive cross-functional team meetings, and collaborate with third party service providers. You will also dive deep and perform detailed functional and technical analysis, evaluate design options, and drive system integration analysis.

Ideally, you will have excellent technical aptitude, have a bias for action, and be driven by details.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5-7 years of experience in a Technical Program Manager role
- Ability to collaborate well with others from different disciplines (Dev, QA, PM) and understand their perspectives
- Excellent documentation and spec creation skills
- Flexibility to adapt to different project methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid approaches
- Ability to translate business requirements into detailed functional requirements
- Working knowledge and familiarity with technologies in the web services protocol stack (HTTP, XML)
- Knowledgeable and experienced designing public APIs and consuming data from third party service providers
- Working knowledge and familiarity with web service design using SOAP and/or RESTful-based implementations
- Good understanding of Object Oriented programming concepts
- Experienced with integration of components at the database and middle tier layer
- Experienced designing secure solutions using different authentication mechanisms
- Solid understanding of notification and messaging systems
- Understanding of relational database design and normalization

- Designing single sign-on solutions
- Designing token-based security solutions
- Designing authorization solutions
- Designing notification and messaging features
- Experience with relational database design and normalization
- Experience with performance optimization and scalability
- Ability to create entity-relationship diagrams
- Hands-on development with Java, C#, or other OOP language
