Technical Product Manager

Our client is creating the next generation of functionality that will enable customers to build and manage their perfect trip. We are seeking a talented Technical Project Manager with a passion for leveraging new technologies and cutting edge development practices, such as continuous deployment in order to solve complex business problems.

As a Technical Project Manager you will own and drive the life cycle of new features from high level concept design to operational delivery and beyond. Join us and help re-invent online travel!

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work with business stakeholders to balance business and technical objectives and manifest these as clear, stable priorities for the team.
- Turn high-level project objectives into a comprehensive set of stories by leading intensive, multi-discipline, collaboration sessions.
- Collaborate with Business Stakeholders, Software Architects, UI Designers, Software Developers, and Software Testers to identify feature details, create stories and acceptance criteria.
- Effectively manage trade-offs between cost/schedule versus business benefit.
- Work with developers, testers, and operations during implementation in order to get features released to live site and drive problem resolution once the new feature has gone live.
- Be the single point of contact responsible for multiple mission critical internal services powering the global website including escalating service issues and ensuring production monitoring and operations procedures are in place and up to date.
- Understand and actively advance best practices (eg Agile/Scrum, Continuous Delivery).
- Actively contribute to team culture of having fun together, embracing change, and delivering.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Technical degree and 4+ years in a technical program or project management role
- High degree of competency with project management including: issue and risk identification and management, tracking dependencies and milestones, and communication of overall project status
- Software development and business development background
- Ability to creatively solve challenging business/technology problems
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritize workload effectively, and thrive in a dynamic and complex environment
- Strong business acumen
- Experience with large scale, complex, multi-tier, web applications
- Passion for the customer experience
- Experience with the full SDLC and shipping software using Agile methodologies
- Proven ability to work with cross functional teams to drive the implementation of new features as well as resolve operational issues
- Familiarity with web-based product development and understanding of typical technology architecture for high-volume web sites
- Experience managing API services with JSON/XML interfaces a plus

Duration: 6 month with possible extension and convert to Contract to Hire.
