About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Technical Program Coordinator for a 5 Month Contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role

The Vendor Technical Program Coordinator works with the Canadian Program Manager (PM) to help implement technical feature releases for a messaging system portal.

The vendor will primarily work on a messaging system portal and entry points: Home Page, News, Entertainment, Video and other channels.

The vendor will provide assistance to the Canada Market PM on tasks related to the requirements gathering, specification, and technical deployment of new features and products.

Responsibilities

- Establish a strong working relationship with local market team (Market CM, editors) to understand their needs and priorities.
- Translate and document local requirements and needs into feature/product requests or technical specifications.
- Schedule and track feature requirements and priorities as part of a roadmap, backlog or project plan, and communicate status regularly.
- Submit specifications to the development teams, review planning meetings, and communicate, drive, and prioritize features into the consolidated product development cycle.
- Provide publishing platform support to the local market team:
- Work with partners to integrate content, XML feeds, and tools.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with partner provided services and non-operational issues.
- Assist Market PM in other technical issues

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

- 3 to 5 years experience managing consumer facing online projects, preferably on a recognized market leading portal.
- IT or Business related BA/BSc degree or equivalent
- Management of multiple complex projects with tight deadlines.
- Great communication skills in English (spoken and written); international experience a plus
- Excellent time management and organization
- Ability to be managed remotely
- Understanding of web-based technologies, such as Flash, Video and Mobile.
- Good experience of associated online technologies, such as networking protocols, web Servers, application Servers, databases etc.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Project, Visio)
- Experience with web content feed formats (XML, XSLT, HTML, RSS); also experience with JavaScript, CSS, DHTML.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environment a plus
- Professional accreditation in Project Management an advantage (PMP)
